What is GPS Tracking?
A GPS tracking unit is a device that uses the Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the location of a vehicle, person, or other asset which it is attached and records its position at regular intervals.
The recorded location data can be stored within the tracking unit or transmitted to a central location database or Internet-connected computer using a cellular (GPRS), radio, or satellite modem embedded within the unit. This allows the location to be displayed against a map backdrop either in real-time or later when analyzing the track of the GPS unit using customized software.
How can it help your investigation?
The use of the GPS tracking system is a resource which allows us to gain invaluable information during mobile surveillance when someone cannot be effectively followed without the risk of being spotted.
Vehicle tracking is a great way to learn where a spouse or employee is traveling to and how long they are staying at a location. Additionally, this is a great tool to monitor a teenager’s driving habits such as the driving route(s) taken, how fast a route was driven, and where the vehicle being tracked is currently parked. If you suspect infidelity in a relationship, a GPS vehicle tracking device may provide you with the clues you need to determine if further surveillance is necessary. Invitech, Inc. will gladly guide you on choosing the right tracking device for your situation.
